Reblogging doesn’t create a duplicate record. I believe a small team is working on the site. PillowFort had been in development long before Tumblr’s policy change regarding adult content. Status: Beta, donations for member access I’m going to wait this one out until a functioning product is available. It could very well be an attempt at a money grab. This project could turn out, it might not. They do have a theoretical “roadmap” that includes a lofty goal of developing a method of identifying illegal content (child porn).Īnother downside to this, at least for iOS, is that Apple will not allow a porn app in the AppStore. They have no proof of concept or any information about what technology, infrastructure, or staff they have. Now they have a new date of December 21st. Originally they had a beta release day set to December 17th that was not met. The counter on it says that 895,725 people are interested. Currently on their site they have a email signup form to be notified of any releases. At the moment of writing this, the Patreon has 90 patrons donating a total of $600 a month. The next time I visited the site they had switched to Patreon.
When I first visited their site they linked to a GoFundMe with a desired goal of $1,000,000. I first saw mention of this site from a Tumblr post saying that they had contacted the developer and trusted them to release a great product. If you would like to share this document without linking to tumblr, you can use the Google Doc by clicking this link. Time will tell if it can scale and be sustained. In my opinion it is the best option at the moment. If you don’t want to read about all of the options and want to know what I am currently sticking with then my choice is Mastodon and the two gay focused instances listed below (munity and displaced).
